Conor McGregor isn’t ruling out a WWE run once he walks away from the UFC.
McGregor is easily one of the most polarizing figures to enter the sport of mixed martial arts. While some have argued that McGregor’s star power is dwindling due to losses, inactivity and legal issues, many still believe he is the biggest star in the UFC. WWE Executive Paul Levesque, better known as Triple H, was quick to express his desire to bring McGregor on board someday.
Conor McGregor opens up about potential WWE run
McGregor spoke to people in Ukraine for a sponsor event. The “Notorious” said he was ready to make the transition to WWE once he’s done with the UFC.
According to Marc Raimondi from ESPNMcGregor was asked on Wednesday about his future after the UFC. He mentioned Hollywood and “maybe WWE”.
“I’ve had a bit of beef with these guys over the years,” McGregor said, referring to various WWE Superstars who he trashed about while promoting his UFC fights.
McGregor hasn’t competed since October 2018 when he was submitted by Khabib Nurmagomedov. The “Notorious” hasn’t emerged victorious in a fight since November 2016. McGregor was in talks with the UFC for a July comeback, but a deal couldn’t materialize.
The former UFC “champion” has been embroiled in legal issues. McGregor was reportedly charged with assault following an incident at a pub in April where he hit a bar patron. The New York Times recently reported that McGregor was under investigation for a second allegation of sexual assault. The report notes that McGregor has not been charged with either of the two sexual assault allegations.
