Danielle Kelly, A championship most recent signing, put pen to paper on his first outing in the organization.
The American grappling sensation will meet a veteran Mei Yamaguchi to ONE X in a grappling match on Saturday, March 26.
Kelly has quickly risen to fame after setting the BJJ world on fire for the past few years. Now she’s going to show the world what she’s capable of at one of the biggest events of the year.
Yamaguchi is known for her grappling and control in mixed martial arts. Her wrestling skills have taken her to nine career submissions throughout her career. The 39-year-old has challenged for the ONE Atomweight World Championship twice, although she came up short against Angela Lee.
The fight will serve as a good introduction for the American, who enters the world stage with a lot of hype. Yamaguchi’s strength and grapple will provide the talented grappler with a challenge and give her a proven opponent to help build her star.
But this won’t be his first competition against notable mixed martial arts stars in grappling matches.
On the mat, Kelly holds victories Roxanne Modafferi, Cynthia Calvilloand Carla Esparza. Perhaps the most impressive of the lot was his 17-second submission over Calvillo in 2019.
The tenth anniversary event continues to add amazing matches featuring every martial art. The event includes mixed martial arts, grappling, kickboxing and Muay Thai bouts. ONE X is loaded from top to bottom.
Kelly’s first fight in ONE will be a great opportunity for the American to make a splash and signify the start of her ONE tenure in a huge way.
ONE X will air live on Saturday, March 26.
