Free 12-week tai chi class launched in Peterborough
Tai chi, also called tai chi chuan, combines deep breathing and relaxation with fluid movements.
Originally developed as a martial art in 13th century China, tai chi is now practiced around the world as a health promoting exercise.
Tai chi is suitable for all ages, requires no equipment, and you can exercise anywhere, anytime.
The course – which was launched this week with the support of the new Mayor of Peterborough Cllr Steve Lane and MP Paul Bristow – is organized by the Chinese community of Peterborough and taught by Master Tary of the Deyin Taijiquan Institute (GB).
Community leader Faustina Yang says Master Tary will guide you step by step through this simple but very effective total body and mind training program.
It’s 24-step Tai Chi Quan. It helps to strengthen muscle tone and tendon elasticity, promote efficient blood circulation and Qi, strengthen the immune system, and improve mental ability to fight stress, improve posture, balance and balance. general mobility, and to increase muscle strength in the legs.
