Free Healthy Kids Events Planned at Gothenburg, Lexington and Holdrege YMCAs | Local News
HOLDREGE – Children and families are invited to the YMCA of Gothenburg Health, the Don Sjogren Community YMCA in Holdrege, and the Orthman Community YMCA in Lexington for free Healthy Children’s Day events in April.
The Y Healthy Children’s Day events will provide fun and creative healthy living activities for the whole family.
The fun of Healthy Kids Day starts from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the YMCA of Gothenburg Health, 910 20th St. This event is in partnership with the Gothenburg Early Childhood Learning Coalition and will include activity stations with price and a gaga. outdoors sponsored by Camp Comeca. No registration is necessary and all events are free.
The Holdrege event will take place from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on April 23 at the YMCA at 1415 Broadway. Free activities will include the National Wild Turkey Federation BB Gun Trailer, making your own slime with the Phelps Memorial Health Center and exploring an ambulance, the UNK Fitness and Wellness Lab Obstacle Course, a 4-H Heelers dog demonstration, bounce house and stalls at the Holdrege Public Library, UNL Extension, Martial Arts, Cub Scouts and Girl Scouts, Holdrege Police Department and the Grasslands Museum of Nebraska.
PMHC will sponsor a food truck at the event as a fundraiser for the “MS Run The US” event.
The YMCA Children’s Duck Race will begin at 6 p.m. Children from Kindergarten to Grade 6 will be able to discover their potential in the fun one-mile race. There is a registration fee.
