Jim Ross has confirmed that UFC President Dana White will attend an upcoming AEW show.
The world of professional wrestling and mixed martial arts have already been linked for many years, and this should continue.
While Brock Lesnar and Ronda Rousey founded success in the WWE and UFC, AEW recently secured the services of Paige VanZant who competed in the octagon through the summer of 2020.
Additionally, AEW President Tony Khan and announcer Jim Ross were in attendance at UFC 273 recently. The pair were seated near the front of the crowd behind UFC boss Dana White. During the broadcast, the two men were shown several times on television, and the AEW brand name was also shown.
Speaking on a recent episode of his podcast, Grilling JR, available via AdFreeShows, Ross reflected on the event and revealed that White will be featured on an upcoming AEW show.
“Dana White invited Tony Khan and me to attend,” Ross said. “I left my house at 10 a.m. here on the beach to go to the event because it didn’t start on TV until 10 a.m. ET. I don’t think the main event entered the ring until midnight or so It was a long night in that respect but Dana is always an amazing host, he put us in the front row and put us right behind him.
“I didn’t watch the show, but according to my schedules, we were on TV a lot and it was good to put AEW on to a certain extent. He and Tony are buddies and I myself have known Dana for a long time, probably not as good as Tony.He remembers my name and was glad I came, so he’s just a great host and a great guy.
“When we’re in Vegas in a few weeks he’s coming to one of our events, so Dana is a great guy. We have a lot in common, we try to sell tickets to a live event and then televise it. There are a lot of commonalities there.
The comments come after Tony Khan recently confirmed he hopes to work with the mixed martial arts giant in the future.
