Jonesboro businesses brace for Black Friday
JONESBORO, Ark. (KAIT) – There are a number of stores in Jonesboro gearing up for one of retail’s biggest days, Black Friday.
But, with all the delays and shortages, we asked if they were ready?
Millions of people shop the day after Thanksgiving, better known as Black Friday.
“We need to prepare well in advance,” said Meghan Denny, director of Buff City Soap.
Over the past year, many have chosen to shop online.
This year, stores expect a lot of feet to walk through their doors.
Brandon Stevens, a customer service representative at Gearhead Outfitters, said they had refueled some time ago.
“Some of the product has already been allocated, but like you said, we are seeing with different vendors missing sizes and colors,” Stevens said.
Most store owners have said they have done the same, but they are still considering long wait times for deliveries.
“We’ve prepared, but right now we’re two weeks behind Fed Ex and one week behind UPS,” Denny said.
Denny said they started preparing in October. She hopes the items will be shipped faster than expected.
“We’ve got a ton of stuff right now, but some of the other stuff we’re just waiting to happen,” Denny said. “It seems to be happening in a little over two weeks. “
Both stores plan to carry a lot of deals to their customers who buy in-store and online.
“We can’t wait to see everyone shop locally with us, locally with people from Jonesboro,” Stevens said.
As you shop, a local martial arts instructor says people need to make sure they remember to stay safe.
