TO THE WEST

Westerly Senior Center is located at 39 State St., Westerly. The opening hours of the center are Mondays. Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Staff will be available Monday through Friday at 401-596-2404.

The dining option for meal service is back. Take-out lunches are always available by entering the center through the parking lot door. Call 401-596-7216 or sign the clipboard outside the center catering site office by Thursday to order either option. A $3 donation is requested.

Dine on the lunch menu:

Monday: white bean soup, meatball sandwich, green beans, bread roll, pudding

Tuesday: garden salad, beef stew, mixed fruit, multigrain roll, cookie

Wednesday: spinach salad with cranberries, baked pasta, sausages and meatballs, roasted zucchini, garlic bread, fruit

Thursday: chicken soup, meatloaf, sweet potato, bun, brownie

Friday: Greek cucumber salad, roast chicken with herbs, wheat roll, Italian green beans, sliced ​​pears

PAWCATUCK

Pawcatuck Neighborhood Center, 27 Chase St., Pawcatuck.

The Seniors Transportation Program provides free door-to-door transportation Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., for residents of Stonington, Mystic, Westerly and North Stonington ages 55 and older. The program uses a bus with an elevator accessible to people with disabilities. Call 860-599–3285 ext. 102, to plan a trip 48 hours in advance.

Help with heating and utilities, pantry, and daily necessities are available at no charge, Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The PNC Library offers books for borrowing Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The PNC thrift store is open Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The shop is looking for volunteers to work on Saturdays.

Program:

Group dinners at the Seniors Center served daily at 11 a.m. Donation of $3 or no charge.

Activities:

Monday: Fit & Fabulous, 9 a.m.; Wii bowling and ice cream, 1:30 p.m.

Tuesday: Chair Yoga, 10:15 a.m.

Wednesday: writing class, 10 a.m.

Thursday: line dancing, 9 a.m.; craft group, 10 a.m.; chair yoga, 10:15 a.m.

Friday: Gentle Yoga, 9:45 a.m.

CHARLESTOWN

Charlestown Senior/Community Center, Country Trail, Ninigret Park, 401-364-9955. Center hours are Monday through Thursday, 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Friday 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Staff are on hand to provide telephone support to seniors in the community who have questions, concerns, or are looking for any type of update. Currently, masks are mandatory for everyone at the senior center.

Lunch will be served Monday through Friday at noon in the Center’s Parkside Dining Room. Grab N’ Go lunches are also available for off-site dining. Reservations must be made by noon two days in advance by calling 401-364-6998.
