KEY POINTS

  • The Lakay team, led by Kevin Belingon and Danny Kingad, will be very present at ONE: Winter Warriors II
  • Stephen Loman and Jhanlo Mark Sangiao make ONE debut
  • Head Coach Mark Sangiao is grateful for the opportunity for top Filipino talent to dominate the map

ONE Championship, based in Singapore, has just confirmed that a contingent of four fighters from the Philippine team Lakay will travel to ONE: Winter Warriors II.

Kevin Belingon and Danny Kingad are expected to make their long-awaited return to the cage.

No.2 bantamweight Belingon is looking to return to the winning column after a three-fight slippage against South Korean “Pretty Boy” Kwon Won II.

Former ONE flyweight title challenger Kingad has a potential title fight against former division king and No.4-ranked Kairat Akhmetov of Kazakhstan.

Former BRAVE CF bantamweight champion Stephen Loman will make his promotional debut at ONE: Winter Warriors II against No.3 bantamweight Yusup Saadulaev of Russia, who is on a three-game winning streak.

In addition, undefeated prospect Jhanlo Mark Sangiao, son of Team Lakay head coach Mark Sangiao, is set to play his first fight under the organization’s banner against Indonesia’s Paul Lumihi.

“We are honored by the confidence that ONE Championship has placed in Team Lakay. This is a huge opportunity for us to end the year on a positive note, and we are very proud to represent the Philippines on the world’s largest martial arts competition stage, ”said Sangiao.

The famous mixed martial arts stable have produced top athletes that ONE Championship fans have enjoyed watching in the circle.

Strawweight champion Joshua Pacio may be the only Filipino currently holding a title in the company, but the influx of talent should be able to compete for a title very soon.

“Our Warriors will face a handful of very tough opponents, so it won’t be easy. Please rest assured that we are working twice in the gym to produce a favorable result. With our hard work and dedication, we will triumph, ”Sangiao said.

More fights should be added to the map in the coming days.

ONE: Winter Warriors II will be recorded at the Singapore Indoor Stadium on December 3 and will be broadcast live via delayed tape on December 17.
