Pasadena City College: Campaign Funding Report for Board Races

This year, odd voters areas will elect four members to represent them on the Pasadena Community College Board of Trustees.

We looked up their campaign finance reports on the LA County Registrar’s website to find out who donated to whom and what candidates spent their money on. Here is a report based on applicants’ filings on California Form 460.
District 1
– Sandra Chen Lau (holder)
At the time of this writing, Sandra Chen Lau’s campaign finance reports could not be found on the LA County Registrar’s website. Before the deadline for submitting applications, 7 March, the Pasadena City College Faculty Association donated $7,000 to Chen Lau’s campaign. Currently, Chen Lau is running unopposed.
District 3
– Berlinda Brown (holder)
As of April 23, Berlinda Brown had raised $13,850, including a $3,000 loan for herself. She spent $2,536 on mailings and signage. As of this writing, campaign finance reports for the second filing period from April 24 through May 21 were not available on the LA County Registrar’s website.

– Linda Wah (holder)
As of May 21, Linda Wah has received $44,947 in monetary contributions and loaned herself $20,000. Its donors include retirees, political staffers and politicians (Judy Chu, Thomas Wong, Denise Menchaca, Laura Friedman, John Chiang and others), educational administrators and administrators, engineers, consultants and agents real estate, and his own donation of $7,000.
As of May 21, Wah has spent $52,066, mostly on campaign direct mail ($33,834),
Consultant Hrag Yedalian ($9,925) and Political Data Inc. (PDI): $3,400. PDI consolidates publicly available voter data from the LA County Registrar’s Office into a database for telephone banking, canvassing and mail. There is also an expense in the amount of $13,608 for “multiple campaign credit card expenses” in reference to an attached sheet, but at the time of this writing, no itemized attachment has been found.
