LIBRARY YOUTH PROGRAMS
Shelter Island Scavenger Hunt – A family adventure, until August 31. You can pick up your booklet from the library or visit silibrary.org to register. Complete the mini-quest at each location listed, then visit the library to collect your prize.
THYME STORY with Sara at the Farm, every Saturday at 10:30 am No need to register. Parents are encouraged to bring their own blanket if they feel more comfortable being further away socially.

Friday Night Dialogue – Peter Lighte: Telling Tales, 7 p.m. (Library, in person)
Sinologist Peter Lighte taught Chinese history and philosophy to students and flourished in the world of international finance. Tokyo, Hong Kong, London and Beijing have all been home. Mr Lighte will read two unpublished memoirs – covering stories of family from the Bronx, friends from Shelter Island, becoming a father in China and more. Register on silibrary.org

L’Arche du Goût is an initiative of the Slow Food Movement to save traditional foods threatened with extinction. Farmer Mimi Edelman from the Orient, who works with l’Arche du Goût, will talk about the work Slow Food is doing to identify and defend these foods. Register on silibrary.org
