Southampton: sponsorship deal with Sportsbet.io announced
What are the terms of the agreement?
Coingaming Group has signed a three-year contract to sponsor Southampton, which is said to be worth over £ 7.5million per year.
This means it will exceed what previous sponsors LD Sports agreed to pay the club when they partnered with them in 2019.

“In a short period of time they have proven to be innovative, forward thinking and extremely supportive of the club, our fans and the community at large, and we have welcomed the opportunity to develop and promote game messages together. sure. “
Maarja Part, Managing Director of Coingaming Group, added: “Our first season as senior partner with Southampton FC has already exceeded all expectations. We were inspired by the passion of the club and its fans, and it was an easy decision for us to extend our partnership with the Saints for another three years.
What if gambling sponsors are banned?
Southampton has taken this issue into consideration.
As the partnership is with Coingaming Group, in which Sportsbet falls under their umbrella, they will replace the shirt front sponsor with one of their companies if game sponsors are banned in an upcoming review.
Are there any original elements in the agreement?
As part of the three-year deal, Southampton has the option of receiving certain performance bonuses in Bitcoin.
If they qualified for the Champions League, Sportsbet, hypothetically speaking, would offer to pay them £ 1million worth of Bitcoin.
However, it is up to Southampton to decide whether it wishes to accept payment in this form.
