Francis Ngannou has a hell of a punch. And that’s not just a figure of speech: the reigning UFC heavyweight champion set the world record for the most powerful punch ever on a PowerKube in 2017, with a punching power of 129. 161 units. If you need a frame of reference for how hard it is, former boxer-turned-world’s strongest man Eddie Hall recently tried to top that number, but hit a high. from 113,999.

All of this to say that if you can avoid getting hit by Ngannou, you really, really should. Of course, if people only did what was right for them, it would make life a lot less interesting, and so in a new video on his YouTube channel, Ngannou offers to train the Australian BMX rider and sports athlete in the world. Ryan Williams full action. through MMA training.

“I ride a scooter, I ride a BMX bike,” says Williams. “I do not doing anything that involves mixed martial arts … I’ve never thrown a punch in my life. “

Ngannou starts Williams off with clap pushups, jump squats, and situps (3 sets of 10 reps on each exercise), before dropping him on the punch bag and giving him some hitting technique tips. Then it’s time for the two of them to step into the octagon.

Williams dons sturdy protective gear, because while he’s a thrill-seeker, he’s not. stupid, and Ngannou is incredibly gentle with him for their first sparring session. But then Williams volunteered for the “body shot challenge” – getting punched squarely in the chest by one of the most powerful punchers in the world. As anyone could have predicted, it ends with an instant Williams drop.

“I stayed alive,” he says. “That was the main focus, and I kind of did it.”
